July Favourites | 2014

I haven't done a monthly favourites post for quite a while but July seems to have been a month which has given me lots of beauty must haves. I'm not sure if it is because of the weather or just because I've stumbled across loads of great products lately but my hair, make up, skincare and body have all had a boost this sunny July. So, without further a do, I'll jump straight in!

Benefit | Hoola
Considering I worked for Benefit Cosmetics for a whole year, it is actually quite baffling that I didn't buy one of these bad boys until a week before leaving. Seriously, I don't understand what I was using on my face before this, I must have always looked so pale! Boots had an offer on at the end of June, buy any two premium products and receive £5 worth of points on your Boots Advantage Card. So I took full advantage of this offer and decided to take the plunge and buy my very own Hoola. You'll be happy to know I am not in the least bit disappointed, it was one of my best beauty buys to date (I know, what a statement!) I love how easy it is to blend, the fact that it is well pigmented yet no matter how much you put on you will never look orange just more beautifully tanned. It has a lovely matt finish so forget all of the annoying shimmery nonsense and it suits all skin-types, which is great as you can wear it all year round, with or without a tan! I'll say no more as I am planning to do a full review later on in the month, but let's just say it was very easily placed top in my monthly favourites.

Garnier | Ultimate Blends Conditioner
So I popped into Boots one day after work because I needed to pick up a few bits and bobs, including some conditioner, and thought I'd try the new Ultimate Blends range from Garnier. I'd heard quite a few positive things about the product and while it was on offer at half price I made a two second decision and put it in my basket. I was expecting it to be fairly nourishing, what with it containing argan and camellia oils, but my hair is in pretty bad shape in terms of dryness and so I wasn't expecting to have silky smooth locks by the time I'd got out of the shower. But boy, was I blown out of the water! It is true what it says on the tin, this really is "The marvellous transformer" for dry, dull hair. In the last few weeks that I have been using it, I have noticed a dramatic change in the quality of my hair. It is brighter, shinier and in much better condition and I owe it all to Garnier. I've found that you only need a small amount as a little goes a long way. I really enjoy the smell as well as the result. It has a classic hair-dresser smell, sort of like a combination of hair spray, hair oils and shampoo all mixed into one. I would strongly recommend this product for anyone to use, but especially if like me, you're hair is in desperate need of a hydration and shine boost.

The Body Shop | Papaya Body Butter
I won't say too much on this as I have already posted a full review which is here if you fancy a read. A quick overview is that it is intensely creamy and hydrating on your skin, but doesn't take an age to soak in. So you can pop it on when you hop out of the shower, and by the time you have done your make up you can get dressed without having to slip and slide your way in to all of your clothes. I've found that it has been a really good moisturiser to use when applying fake tan, which I know we've all been doing the last few weeks, as it provides a good base and keeps your skin in good nick so the tan lasts a lot longer. The smell of this product is incredible, like freshly squeezed papayas, not any processed, 'smells-like' rubbish. I will definitely be re-purchasing this in the next few months.
Dove | Summer Glow Nourishing Lotion | Normal to Dark Skin
I have used Dove's gradual tan for years and bring it out every spring and it stays with me until autumn. It's the little black dress of my beauty collection and I couldn't get through the summer months without it. I love how easy it is to apply, it soaks in straight away like all good moisturisers should and you don't feel sticky or like you have to stand naked for hours letting it dry! I also really like the fact that it doesn't smell like a fake tan it has quite a sweet coconut-like smell that isn't at all over baring. It provides a really lovely natural colour which appears after just one application. I love the fact that it is gradual and that you can really build up a good colour. I was using it morning and night a few days leading up the York Races that I went to last weekend, and I've still got a lovely sun-kissed colour to my skin now, one week on! I would definitely recommend this to anyone wanting a nice "natural" fake tan.

Benefit | Foamingly Clean Facial Wash

I have already done a full review of this face wash earlier on in the month which you can read here if you fancy a peek, but I had to include it in my July monthly favourites as it has really transformed my skincare regime. It is such a soft and gentle cleanser and really leaves your face feeling refreshed and soft and isn't at all drying on the skin. A face wash I think could fit in to anyone's skincare routine, regardless of  skin-type.

So, there you have it, my July favourites. Have you tried any of these products? What were your July Favourites?
