Real Techniques, Review

I had read so much about this little edition to the Real Techniques collection and so decided to pop one into my basket when I was in Superdrug last month. I am going to be honest and say that initially I did not get one with this fella. I found that it took off my base rather than blend my concealer and I wasn't impressed with the finish. This however, was whilst I was using it dry. It does say on the packaging to use damp or dry but through trial and error I have grown to love it when I use it damp! I have been giving it a little squirt of Superdrug's Vitamin E Toning Spray and then gently patting my concealer until it is blended.

The Shape is quite unusual but that is due to its multiple uses. The sides are recommended to be used to apply and blend foundation, the flat edge is supposedly for under the eyes and around the nose, and the very tip for imperfections. I have found however that I apply my base as usual using my Real Techniques Expert Face Brush which you can read a review of here. Once I am happy with my foundation I then apply my Maybelline Instant Anti-Age concealer (full review here) under my eyes, but then also on my chin, down my nose and on my forehead to act as a bit of a contour. I spray the very tip of the Complexion Sponge and almost use a light pulling action to blend the creamy concealer into the rest of my base, rather than dabbing all over the area. The result is great and it gives a very flawless finish.

Have you tried the Real Techniques Miracle Complexion Sponge? How do you like to apply your concealer?
