A Few New Beauty Additions | NYX Haul

I have been wanting to try some NXY products for such a long time now. However, I'm not really a fan of buying beauty products online, especially when it comes to make up. I always find that the colours and shades never quite look the same and I much prefer being able to see a product and take a swatch in a shop. Because NYX has only recently become available in UK stores, and it has taken some time to branch out to various stores, I was unable to find it in York, where I live, until just now.

I had a muse around the counter this last weekend and ended up buying five new items from the stand, all of which look great. I have tried out the products over the weekend and I am really pleased with each one. It is such an affordable range that doesn't feel cheap in regard to both the packaging and the products themselves.

BUTTER LIP GLOSS IN MADELEINE | LINK

"Butter me up with divine gloss that feels like it melts on lips"

I have read a lot of hype about these butter lip glosses and thought that I would give one a go. I opted for quite a neutral, non-offensive tone which looks almost coffee like but glides on more translucent. It is also called Madeleine, not quite the same as Madolyn but it excited the little girl inside me that could never find anything with my name on!

SOFT MATTE LIP CREAM IN CANNES | LINK

"This matte lip cream is a new kind of lip colour that goes on silky smooth and sets to a matte finish"

I have also seen a lot of beauty bloggers raving about this lip product and so after many a swatch I opted for this brick red colour called Cannes. It is really lovely on the lips, super easy to apply, with no drag and amazing lasting power! Once dry, this product will not bleed or run from your lips. I love this colour which I will definitely be using for work on a daily basis.

STAY MATTE BUT NOT FLAT LIQUID FOUNDATION IN SOFT BEIGE | LINK

"Oil free, water based, full coverage, mineral enriched, matte finish"

I usually spend quite a bit on my foundation, often opting for the more high-end, premium beauty brands. However, I decided to give this cheaper alternative a go as it is a much smaller bottle which will be great for me to take away to T In The Park with me. It is a really good match to my skin tone and I found it really easy to blend and not at all heavy on the skin.

BORN TO GLOW LIQUID ILLUMINATOR IN 02 | LINK

"lightweight liquid illuminator that gives skin a refreshed glow and beautiful highlight"

The packaging alone lead me to believe that this may be a Nars Illuminator dupe. It is even called Liquid Illuminator! When I swatched it I was blown away as the consistency and the glow/shimmer proportions seemed just the same as the Nars equivalent. I have been really impressed with this product I think it will become a summer staple for me to use under my make up, mixed in with my foundation, or applied on top as a highlighter.

EYEBROW PENCIL IN DARK BROWN | LINK

"Use the built in brush to blend colour and style your eyebrows to perfection"

My final pick in this NYX haul was this eye brow pencil. This really reminded me of the new Goof Proof eyebrow pencil by Benefit and at a fraction of the price I thought I would give it a try. I usually use Benefit's Brow-Zings but I thought this would be good when doing a no-make up make up look as it is really natural looking.
