The Best Beauty Discoveries Of 2016 So Far

I have discovered some amazing products so far this year from a range of different brands. Although I planned to write a post at the end 2016 with a round up of the best beauty discoveries, like a did last year, I thought that I would write about some of the best products I have discovered so far.

Charlotte Tilbury Lip Products

Although I have lusted over the gorgeous, rose-gold make up by Charlotte Tilbury from quite some time, I only got my hands on some of her products earlier this year. I opted for one of her lip losses in Sweet Stiletto and one of her lip liners in Pillow Talk. I love the combination of these two products for a natural yet classy look as they are very much a 'my lips but better' shade. I also love how universal they are as they can both be combined with many of my other lips products. As well as the beautiful packaging they are both very high in quality and durability which makes them well worth the money in my eyes.

Nars Velvet Matte Skin Tint

I bought this base from Nars when it was first released back in February. It has become my go-to base for those days when I want a lighter base and has been a great companion throughout the summer months. I am a huge lover of Sheer Glow Foundation but the Velvet Matte Skin Tint has a much more matte and natural finish that smooths over imperfections and provides a very even tone to the skin.

Oskia Renaissance Cleansing Gel

I am a huge lover of cleansers. Although I love applying make up, I also love taking it all off to make my skin feel really fresh and clean. I normally opt for a fairly cheap cleanser however I thought that I would treat myself to a much more high-end product to see if it made a difference. I had heard a lot about Oskia before I had tried it and as the Renaissance Cleansing Gel was the first product that I had ever bought. I had pretty high expectations but I wasn't disappointed. This oil based cleanser has become one of my favourites. It feels very luxurious, almost like having a spa facial at home.

Redken Pillow Proof*

I really struggle with creating lasting volume on my roots. With my hair being quite long and thick, the weight often pulls my hair down leaving it a little flat against my head. The Redken Pillow Proof however has revolutionised my hair styling, allowing my hair to be much lighter on the roots which in turn, creates volume. A little pump of pillow proof applied to the roots of damp hair is all that it needed to create voluptuous hair that lasts all day and night.

Jo Malone Fragrance

I have been wanting to try a Jo Malone fragrance for a long, long time and I was lucky enough to get the Cracker Gift Set for Christmas. With in the gift set was a miniature Blackberry and Bay fragrance that I have absolutely fallen in love with. It is a wonderful scent that is fairly sweet but has been toned down with a mixture of more masculine scents.  It has become my night out, go-to perfume and I think that I will treat myself to a full size bottle pretty soon.

Dior Self Tanning Creme

I decided to buy this product after a few beauty bloggers that I follow had recommended it multiple times. It is a lovely self tanner for the face that is extremely natural. I like to apply it once a week, usually on a Sunday, on an evening after I have finished my skincare routine. I find that way that it has over night to sink in a develop and then I wake up feeling very fresh with a natural tan.
