Autumnal Favourites | Beauty, Fashion & Lifestyle

I’m sat writing this, siting on my new mattress, which is currently placed on the floor of the bedroom of my new flat! I have a bath running in the background, and I am super excited to have a Harry Potter marathon whist soaking in the tub with a Lush bath bomb and some of my favourite pamper products…

James and I moved at the weekend and things have been a little up in the air over the last few days to say the least. I won’t go into to much detail, but we have been thinking about moving away from our hometown of York for a while, and wanted to venture off together to somewhere a little bigger. Our original plan was Manchester, but after a few little hiccups we have settled on Leeds. Everything happened quite quickly, so in the space of a few weeks we handed in our notices, found a flat, moved to a new city and we’re currently trying to find new jobs. It’s been quite stressful, but really exciting at the same time!

It means however, that writing my blog has taken a little bit of a back seat, and whilst we’re still in the process of getting the internet sorted in the new place, it has been fairly difficult to maintain my online presence.

However, I really quickly wanted to share a few things that I have loved over the last few weeks and months. Autumn is once of my favourite times of the year, so instead of a Monthly Favourites post, I thought that I would share an Autumnal Favourites blog post.

Beauty

Due to the move, I have been trying to use up a lot of my old make up and beauty stash so that it was less to take to the new place. However, just before I went on holiday to Cyprus, I bought two new eye makeup products that I have absolutely loved using. The first is the Maybelline Lash Sensational Mascara in Black. This is a fantastic mascara, especially considering that it is from a high-street brand. It is so long wearing, makes my lashes feel full, thick and long and doesn’t feel heavy at all.

I have also loved using the NYX Pen Liner, which is amazingly easy to use and creates a perfect flick every time. It is so long lasting, smudge-proof, and the perfect autumnal makeup staple. Finally, I have been using the Beverly Hills Formula Black Pearl Toothpaste* over the last few weeks, which works a dream. I am a huge fan of this brand and have been using their toothpaste for just over a year now. It is so refreshing and makes my teeth feel super clean and white.

Fashion

In terms of fashion, I have two main Autumnal Favourite pieces and that is a beautiful mustard yellow jumper, and a dogtooth checkered A-line midi skirt, both from my favourite shop, Primark. I have had loads of compliments on Instagram for both items and I have been wearing them pretty much non-stop. The jumper is a beautiful statement piece that works surprising well with a lot of different autumnal outfits. And the skirt is a great transitional piece as it can be worn well into winter, through to spring both as an evening and daytime garment.

Lifestyle

In terms of lifestyle Autumnal Favourites I have loved drinking the Luscome Flavoured Tonic Waters*. They are so nice to enjoy on their own or with a cheeky tipple of gin. They taste really good and I’ve loved having a little glass on an evening, in fact, I think I’ll enjoy one with my bath tonight!

My final favourite has been candles. Now, I am a huge lover on candles and I love nothing more than getting super cosy and Hygge with 293576439 candles to set the scene. I have of course had my beautiful ‘Autumn’ candle out from the White company gift set I got for Christmas last year. But what I have loved using is this brilliant Jo Malone dupe from Aldi of all places. This two wick beauty is packaged and labeled in the same way, and is even named after the same scents! I picked up Blackberry & Bay (my favourite) and although it doesn’t give off the same strength of smell, at £3.99 a pop, you can’t really complain!
