Last Sunday I woke up bright and early after an amazing day in Cheshire for BBC Radio 2's Car Fest. You can read about what I got up to there on my Photo Diary post. We drove back to a friends house and stayed over. After having an amazing cooked breakfast from our lovely hosts, me and the boy got on the road, heading towards Wales. We had planned to spend five nights over in Aberaeron with some of my friends from University but we weren't due to get to the caravan that we were staying in until Sunday evening. So the boy and I had Sunday day to kill some time, and after scanning the road map we decided to stop off in Shrewsbury for the day, before continuing on to the Welsh coast.
It was a beautiful place which wasn't too dissimilar to my home town of York. The Tudor buildings were beautiful and we were so lucky with the weather - it was absolutely glorious.

Walking over the English Bridge looking over the beautiful riverside

We took a walk over to the Abby which was a beautiful building that is kept alive due to people's donations

We went to a gorgeous little café called Sophie's and I had the most amazing Belgium hot chocolate.

It was so nice for the boy and I to spend some time together exploring a completely new city. I had a lovely day and would really recommend to stop off if you are in the area.
Have you been on any day trips lately?
