Make Up And Beauty Products For Traveling
As you're reading this post I will be on a plane on my way
to New York for a two week trip in the United States with my family! I am so
excited about this holiday as I know that it is going to be packed with amazing
sights, food and people. I thought that I would do a post on what make up and
beauty items I will be taking away with me. Whenever I am trying to sort
out what beauty bits and bobs to take away with me it always takes me ages and
so I like to read these sorts of posts, and thought it would be fun to write
one myself.
Although I am going away for two weeks, we are actually
visiting three different cities and so I feel as though my beauty choices are
slightly different from previous posts I have written like this, such as My Beauty Must Haves When Traveling With Hand Luggage Only. As
this is this a city based holiday, I won't be packing 'poolside
must-haves' or minimal make up for heading over to the beach. I am also
planning on having a huge Sephora shop as soon as possible after we land, and
so I didn't want to take too many beauty products with me, as I plan on buying
(and using) quite a bit, whilst I am there.
HAIR
I am only taking with me a couple of miniatures when it
comes to my hair. Even though we are taking hold luggage, we always tend
to buy a big bottle of shampoo and conditioner to share between us all, either
at the airport or when we get to our holiday destination. This way, it doesn't
eat into our luggage allowance, and then we can divide it up when we get there.
I will be taking with me the Bumble and Bumble Thickening Hair Spray and their
Straight Blow-dry balm. I haven't ever tried any Bumble and Bumble products
before but I think that these little miniatures will be the perfect amount to
take away with me, and if I really like them, I can buy a full size whist I am
away! I will also be taking a few sachets of Aussie's 3 Minute Miracle hair masque.
I absolutely love this stuff and always make sure I have some to take away
with me.
SKINCARE
I am keeping it really simple when it comes to skincare,
mainly because I am sure that I will be buying plenty from Sephora whilst I am
there. For cleansing, taking off my make up and getting rid of any impurities I
will be using the much talked about Garnier Micellar Water. I will also be
taking some of the No.7 Beautiful Skin face wipes, just in case I want to freshen
up whilst traveling. For my moisturiser I have picked a No.7 miniature of their
Protect and Perfect Day Cream. I also have a Dirty Girl face masque by PUR for
times when I feel as though city life is taking its toll on my skin.
BODY
Again, I am keeping it very simple and only picking out the
necessities that I need to take with me. A compact deo form SURE is a must, and
these bad boys pack as much as the 250ml bottles! Some Clean On Me body wash
from Soap and Glory ( I can never have a shower without this stuff!) and a
Sanctuary Spa body polish to keep me nicely exfoliated.
BASE
Some SPF 30 serum, because I have been told that in New York
as least, the weather is particularly sunny right now! Benefit's Porefessional
primer as I am sure that we will be having long days out and I need my make up
to last me all day. I picked up this BB Balm from Seventeen a few days ago, as
not only does it promise to improve my skin in four weeks but it has an SPF of
25 and I thought it would be nice and lightweight on the skin. I have given it
a go, and the colour match was great for me, and so far I have liked the
results. Concealer wise I have chosen Erase Paste to hide any nasty breakouts
whilst I am away, and Mac Pro-Longwear Concealer for a little extra coverage to
hide my under-eye dark circles which I am sure will appear due travelling and
the time difference.
THE COLOUR
I took this little pack of Benefit goodies away with me to
my last two beach holidays and it was so lovely to use. The Hoola bronzer is
one that I use on a daily basis anyway and so to have a miniature one was
great. The two eye shadows are really complimentary and you can easily create a
day or a night look just applying more of the lighter or darker shade. There is
a little high-lighter and a Hoola lip gloss to finish off the look - a real
holiday must have in my eyes.
THE FINISHING TOUCHES
I have really been loving Benefit's Lolli-Tint I will
definitely be taking it away with me as it is a cheek and lip stain. Its it
great to add a little bit of colour and lasts forever on your lips with little
to no need for touch ups. I will also take two highlighters (both Benefit) High
Beam which is a soft pink and That Gal which is more of a champagne. They
can both be used, under the make up to provide a glowing base, or on top to act
as a natural high-light. Of course I will be packing me fail-safe They're Real
Mascara to finish the look.
NAILS
Last on my beauty list is nail vanish. I picked up these two
from Barry M a few days ago as they were on offer buy one get one half price. I
love this baby pink and soft lavender and have been wearing them together over
the past few days.
What make up and beauty products do you take away with
you when traveling?
