How To Look After Your Skin During Winter

Looking after your skin during winter can prove quite challenging. With the colder weather making it harder to bare all and maintain a good skincare routine, I find that these four products make things a little easier.

As soon as I get out of the shower or the bath during winter the last thing on my mind is rubbing in various lotions and potions and wait for them to dry before getting dressed. All I want to do is dab myself dry, grab the thickest warmest clothes and get warm as quickly as possible. I have therefore made a few little tweaks to my usual routine in order to look after my skin during the winter months.

Once I have showered I want to spend the least amount of time possible between getting dry and getting dressed, which is why I like to use as many products whilst I'm in the shower or bath to look after my skin, as I can. Laura Ashley's Imperial Bloom Bath Soak is a great product to use during winter as it makes bath water very rich and creamy adding a moisturising element. This is great for looking after your skin when its difficult to motivate yourself to moisturise as this does it for you whilst you soak. Another great in-shower/bath product is the St Tropez In Shower Gradual Tan. It is difficult during winter when my skin is at its palest as I want to fake tan but find it too painful to stand naked waiting for it to dry. This is why this addition to the St Tropez range is so great as you can fake tan in the warmth of your bathroom.

For when I do manage to motivate myself to apply some moisturiser during winter I like to use Soap and Glory's The Righteous Butter. This body butter applies like a dream and soaks in almost instantly which looks after my skin ensuring that it is hydrated and moisturises but I don't have to wait ages for it to soak in and can get dressed almost instantly. I also really like to use The White Company's White Lavender Hand and Nail Cream. Not only does this smell amazing, it is also extremely hydrating and again, soaks into the skin almost instantly. Although it is designed to be used for the hands, I really like to apply this to my elbows neck and shoulders for an extra dose of hydration.
