Autumn is by far my most favourite time of the year. I love the change of season, the cooler nights, the alteration in the colours of the leaves and the fact that we can now live in ankle boots. I feel as though everything is nicer in Autumn from fashion to make up and everything in between.

I think that nature is at it's prettiest in Autumn.  I love the Autumnal colour palette in nature which is shown so beautifully in the leaves on the trees. I think that it looks so pretty with all of the reds, oranges, yellows and browns which feels so cosy and warm. Even as an adult I still get a little twinge of excitement when I see the first conkers of the year growing on trees signaling the start of Autumn.

Cosy Evenings In

As much as I enjoy sitting out on a summer's eve, there is something so appealing in Autumn about having a cosy night in. I love curling up on the sofa with a blanket and a good book, a few candles and a cup of tea - this is true perfection for me. In summer I almost feel guilty if I'm not outside enjoying the nice weather and so Autumn nights in are completely guilt-free.

My Autumnal wardrobe is by far my favourite and I get so excited when brands start to show-case their Autumn/Winter collections. I love the whole skinny jeans, ankle boots, scarf, mitten, gilets combination. I feel as though I dress my best in Autumn and feel most comfortable in soft knitwear and light jackets.

The Autumnal drinks menu is by far the best on offer. I love nothing more than being outside in the blustery weather and then walking into a lovely, cosy little cafe and having a peruse of their hot drinks menu. Hot chocolate is always a good option, however I am a huge fan of the famous Starbucks Spiced Latte that is always brought out around this time of year. If it is more early evening then a cheeky mulled cider is often a good choice.

After a summer filled with salads, smoothies and all round healthy goodness, I feel as though the pressure is slightly lifted when it comes to Autumn. Comfort food and warm meals start to take more of a centre stage. I love to have some sort of soup, broccoli and stilton is usually my first choice, with a warm crusty bread roll. Nothing says Autumn to me like a lovely bowl of hot soup after being outside in the more chilly weather.

It may sound a little odd but I love Autumnal weather. Although I enjoy the sunshine, I hate being too hot. Autumn is the perfect balance for me as I can wear lots of layers for the chilly mornings and evenings, but take them off for the warmer lunch times and afternoons. I love going out for long walks in the autumn and really enjoy the change in weather.

Make Up

Much like fashion, autumnal make up is another one of my favourite elements of the new season. I love the Autumn/Winter collections that are brought out during this time of year. My favourite pieces are usually the autumnal eye shadow shades that are brought out as well as the different shades of lipsticks and nail varnishes that are on offer.

Halloween & Bonfire Night

Aside from it being my birthday in Autumn, I love the two main events of the season; Halloween and Bonfire Night. I'm not usually one for fancy dress but I really get into the spirit of Halloween and have so much fun planning my outfit and dressing up. My family and I usually celebrate bonfire night at my parents house and we have a huge fire in their back garden with lots of friends, food and of course fireworks. It is always a really fun evening and is one of my highlights of the season.
