When I found out that I would be attending London fashion week this year, I instantly got that panicky feeling of ‘what on earth am I going to wear?!’

I wouldn’t consider myself a fashion blogger as such, although I do publish the odd fashion based post here on Madolyn Thinks. I also know that my wardrobe isn’t filled with the most up-to-date high-fashion pieces. So as September drew closer I began to feel a little nervous.

I decided to create a bit of a capsule wardrobe for myself when it came to packing for Fashion Week. I knew that I needed to have items of clothing that were comfortable, semi-smart, easy to layer and versatile.

I opted for a standard Mom-cut style of jeans that could be both dressed up and down, and also my very favourite black culottes from Zara. These were my bottoms for the weekend and they created the foundation of my LFW capsule wardrobe. I then decided to pick tops that would go with both items, which would in turn, create more outfit combinations.

I packed a couple of tees, a few jumpers and a shirt. This provided me with enough choice so that I could dress according to the weather or location, yet still feel like I had quite a few options. I also packed this plain black blazer, again from Zara, to add a hint of sophistication and it made me feel a little more put together.

Shoe wise I opted for a pair of black, heeled pumps, a bargain from New Look just before Christmas, which I wore practically every day. They are a very comfortable pair of shoes that I knew I could spend all day walking in. I then decided to take my trusty, Primark, over the shoulder bag that is the perfect size for my purse, phone, a bit of makeup and my camera.

What would you wear to London Fashion Week?
