Yesterday marked my first day of London Fashion Week. I have never attended before and I had a stomach full of butterflies as I made my way over to the Strand yesterday morning to the LFW hub.

Press pass on and my camera fully charged, I was prepped and ready to explore the designer show rooms and have a peek at the Spring/Summer fashion trends of 2018.

Everything was displayed beautifully and it was so exciting being able to talk directly to the designers and find out where they got their inspiration. There seemed to be a running theme of pastel colours running through the collections with bright pops of colour being showcased on a few key items.

Some of the main sponsors of LFW are Maybelline New York and Toni & Guy, both of which had pop up beauty rooms in which you can have a quick blow dry or a makeup touch up. There was also coffee on tap and mini Green & Blacks chocolate bars dotted around.

Within the showrooms is a NewGen section in which various up and coming designers have been selected to show their collections on the catwalk as well as the show rooms. This section will change over the course of Fashion Week and the ‘One To Watch’ has been picked out as being Richard Quinn.

After a few hours of exploring and taking photos I headed to the Felicities LFW Press Lunge located in the M E London hotel. This was a really cool space that has been kindly let out to people involved in LFW to chill out, re-fresh and recharge their coffee levels and phone batteries. It was a perfect way to go through my photographs and decompress the morning.
