Happy Sunday!

I am so excited for it to be the month of September. September for me signifies the beginning of autumn, which is my favourite time of the year. I love the fashion, the weather, the cosy nights in mixed with crisp morning walks and the excuse to have a fancy hot beverage whenever you want. I am also really excited for September as I am traveling down to London this year for my first London Fashion Week! It is also my birthday, which is always a bonus, even if I am turning another year older…!

I had thought that August was going to be filled with picnics, day trips and summer evening walks, but up north in the UK the weather has not been that great. It has mainly been filled with quick trips out trying to avoid the rain, with lots of tights and jeans as apposed to bare legs and dresses. But we did manage a trip to Manchester, which was really fun, and I also got my hair cut, making me feel like a new woman. But on to my monthly favourites, here are a few things that I have loved over the last few weeks.

One of my favourite beauty products that I have been using throughout August is the Rose Gold fragrance* from Monsoon. Not only does the tear drop bottle look beautiful on my dressing table, the warm and sophisticated scent is ideal for everyday use. It is a very feminine fragrance but it has very woody base notes with hints of lemon, vanilla and musk. I love that it isn’t classically girly with lots of floral scents; it has a very universal smell to it that is really long wearing yet lightweight and airy.

I have also loved using the Tangle Angel*. It is the perfect everyday brush that can be used on both wet and dry hair and perfectly tackles tangled hair with ease. It also has heat resistant bristles and a practical handle making it ideal to style with. I have loved using this and lets just say that my tangle teaser has taken a bit of a back seat of late.

In terms of fashion pieces, I have loved wearing this short and camisole floral PJ set from Primark. I picked this set up for just £10 and it is so perfect for the summer months. It was featured in my Summer Primark Haul and I love the silkiness of the material and the gorgeous lace trim on the bottom of the shorts and the neckline of the top. I have also loved wearing this amazing Primark Playsuit Dress, which is the perfect summer garment, idea for any summer event. I even wore it to a family wedding party the other week as it can be easily dressed up and dressed down with the correct shoes, makeup and accessories. I think I might also take it with me to London for LFW…

In terms of lifestyle bits and bobs, I have dragged out my weighted Hula Hoop and have been using this to tone my waist on an evening. It is a great alternative if I can’t make it over to the gym as I still feel like I’m getting a workout. I love how easy it is to use and I like that I can do it on an evening at home whilst I watch TV.

Speaking of television there are a couple of shows that have been filling my downtime throughout August. The first one being Salem, a fictional take on the Salem witch trials in Massachusetts back in the 1600s. It is easy viewing with a bit of drama, romance, gore and escapism and I love having it on when I’m relaxing in the bath. I have also watched the second season of Ru Paul’s Drag Race, I’m not too sure why have waited this long to go back and watch it. It was so good and I ended up watching all of the Untucked episodes from the most recent series on YouTube, which are hilarious if you get the chance to have a peek.

What have you loved throughout the month of August?
