Skincare for me is a fickle friend. I feel as though my skin can work really well with a product and then fall out with it in an instant. Then, depending on the time of the month, the weather or how much sleep I’ve had different products can be amazing or terrible, which can get a little frustrating.

I have a combination skin type. That is to say that I have dehydrated, yet oily skin which is prone to breakouts and can change in levels on an almost daily basis. Not ideal…

So, after many years of trial and error with a lot of different skincare products, I leapt at the chance to try a solid skincare routine with products picked out specifically for my skin type. I’ll go through each product and explain what it is, where it fits in with my skincare routine and how often I have been using it.

Exuviance Purifying Cleansing Gel*: This cleansing gel is a really gentle product that easily wipes off makeup and is formulated to exfoliate and provide a deep clean. I have been using this on an evening, as it is great at removing oil and dirt without taking away any natural moisture from the skin. It is great because it is for all skin types so it feels soft and soothing.

PRICE: £30.00 212ml

NeoStrata Smooth Surface Daily Peel Pads*: These little pads are absorbed in an exfoliating solution that is designed to improve skin tone and dissolve impurities. I have been wiping one pad over my face after cleansing on an evening, avoiding the lip and eye area. The product does not need wiping off and so I massage the remaining fluid into my skin before applying my evening moisturiser.

PRICE: £50.00 60ml solution with 36 pads.

Exuviance Deep Hydration Treatment*: This is a brilliant over night, deep hydration mask that helps to strengthen the skins protective barrier. It helps to leave the skin plumped and hydrated and for best results it should be used two or three times a week. I have been using it twice a week, once I have applied a Daily Peel Pad, and then apply my usual moisturiser.

PRICE £43.00 50g

NeoStrata Foaming Glycolic Wash*: This face wash is designed to unclog pores and gently exfoliate the skin. It will help to create a smooth texture to the skin after repeated use and can be used twice daily. It is soap and fragrance free and I have been applying two pumps of the foam on to my face on a morning, to awaken the skin and dissolve impurities before rinsing off with water.

PRICE: £30.00 – 100ml

Exuviance Matte Perfection Gel*: I have absolutely loved using this perfection gel as a makeup primer. It creates an instant matte finish and works brilliantly under foundation. It contains an antiseptic exfoliator, which helps to control oil production throughout the day. I have really noticed a difference with my makeup, and my shine is kept at bay.

PRICE £35.00 30g

Oxygenating Foundation*: This has been branded as ‘The World’s Most Breathable Foundation.’ It is great that it stays in place throughout the day and because it doesn’t smudge due to perspiration or clog pores, it can be worn whilst exercising. This is ideal for me as I can sometimes feel a little self-conscious going to the gym without makeup on if I have impurities or a breakout. It is oil and fragrance free and has an SPF of 25.

PRICE: £45

Exuviance Cover Blend Skin Caring Foundation*: The final skincare product I have been using is the Exuviance Cover Blend Foundation. This is a really good colour match for me and it is available in eleven different shades. It is a medium coverage that lasts all day with an SPF of 20. I have really enjoyed wearing this as an everyday base for work and it is the perfect office foundation; natural, yet long lasting.

PRICE £35.50 30ml

For the past four weeks I have been using my new skincare routine and so far I love each of the products. I have been starting my day with the NeoStrata Foaming Glycolic Wash to awaken the skin. It leaves me feeling super clean and ready to start my daily skincare routine. After applying my Benefit Facial Emulsion I have been applying the Exuviance Matte Perfection, which acts as a brilliant primer as it absorbs excess oil and really mattifies the skin. I have loved using the Exuviance CoverBlend Foundation over the last few weeks.  It is perfect for work as it is a natural/medium coverage and it lasts all day without leaving my skin feeling clogged or greasy. I have also been applying the Oxygenetix foundation on days when I’m going to the gym, as it is water resistant and able to be worn whilst working out – ideal for when I have any impurities that I would rather cover up.

On an evening I have been taking off my eye makeup with the Clarins Instant Eye Make Up Remover, and then applied the Exuviance purifying Cleansing Gel. This easily and effectively takes off my makeup without drying my skin. I feel so cleansed and fresh afterwards and ready to continue with the rest of my routine. Before applying moisturiser I have been using one of the NeoStrata Smooth Surface Daily Peel Pads. These pads are absorbed with a formula that improves skin texture and tone and dissolves the top layer of skin to reveal fresh and bright looking skin. On an average day I finish off the routine with my benefit Total Moisture moisturiser, but twice a week I have also applied the Exuviance Deep Hydration Treatment before hand, to act as an overnight hydration mask.

I have loved using these products on my skin over the last few weeks. I feel as though I have been able to keep my breakouts at bay whilst keeping my skin feeling healthy and hydrated. I will definitely continue to use these products and I hope to keep my skin feeling as good as it does now.
