When it comes to the winter months, our skin can become dry, de-hydrated and a little dull, due to the elements and an increase of central heating. However, even in the cooler months of the year it is possible to maintain the radiant, glowing skin of summer with the help of a good skincare routine.

I find that my skin is always at it’s best when I keep on top of a structured skincare regime. An obvious starter is to keep your skin cleansed and so I would always recommend using a gentle face wash on a morning and a cleanser to take off your makeup on an evening. However, there are a couple more steps that you can opt to implement into your routine that will help to create a radiant, glowing and dewy complexion.

One product I have been using lately is a serum, once I have cleansed but before I have moisturised. I find that using a serum at least once, if not twice a day, has really made my skin glow. I have loved using this one in particular from No7 and it gives my skin much more radiance. Its aim is to create clearer, younger looking skin, which is perfect for this time of year.

This may seem like an obvious point to some, but one of the best ways to create a radiant dewy look that glows is to keep your skin hydrated. And the best way to do that?! Moisturise, moisturise, moisturise!!! My mum always told me from a very young age that I should moisturise evening and night and I stand by that advice - she always looks incredibly youthful and radiant. Currently I have been using the Soap & Glory Speed Plump moisturiser and over the last couple of months I have also been applying an eye cream. I have found that this has helped with dark circles and puffiness under my eyes.

Exfoliating is a great way to make your skin glow and provide a more radiant finish. I have loved using the Triple Microdermabrasion Face Polish by Exuviance* over the past couple of weeks.  This innovative formula aims to dissolve impurities and congestion and in tern stimulates cell renewal. I usually like to exfoliate three to four times a week, however this facial polish is designed to work best two or three times a week to avoid over stimulation. Getting rid of dead skin cells really adds a natural glow to the skin and will ultimately make it look radiant and dewy.

Following the facial polish I have also been using the Bionic Oxygen Facial*, also by Exuviance. This dermatologist-developed facemask calms the skin as well as energising and detoxifying stressed skin. It is like no facemask I have used before but I absolutely love it! I massage a generous layer onto cleansed, damp skin (once I have used the facial polish). After five minutes this gel transforms into a foam that will then slowly start to disappear. It creates a strange tingle as the bubbles pop; once the residue has been rinsed off my skin feels incredible. This can be used three to four times a week and it feels like a spa treatment.

Although skincare and make up products can greatly enhance your skin to make it glow, be radiant and look dewy, there are other things to factor in. I notice that my skin always looks radiant and youthful when I get plenty of sleep, drink lots of water and keep my diet on check, minimising sugar intake and upping the quantity of fresh food.
