Life can be so busy and hectic day to day that sometimes we can forget to take a step back and take some time for ourselves to relax and de-stress.

Whether you work from home, study at school or college or work a 9-5 office job, it is so easy to get stuck in a routine. Once you’ve finished work, gone to the gym, made dinner and done some house chores, the day is nearly over. That’s not even including socialising, spending time with loved ones or doing boring adult things.

It is important however to take some time for yourself to allow your brain to chill out and relax. This is something that I have been actively trying to make time for recently and it has certainly made a difference.

One thing that I have really got into of late is colouring. When I was little my mum would always pull out the colouring books for me and my brother on a rainy day to keep us entertained. But it is funny how you ‘grow out of’ this and stop doing it, as you get older.

With the madness of the western world, we are constantly striving to find ways to relax and adult colouring books became an instant success when they hit the market a few years ago. I love colouring in with pencils (I wonder if it is a bit of nostalgia from when I was little) and I love these ones from Reeves

This pack of twelve wooden pencils provides a perfect rainbow of colours to create any perfectly coloured picture. Reeves are the perfect go-to brand for any creative supplies whether you love to draw, paint, use watercolours and everything in-between. They are an extremely affordable brand with amazingly high quality products that are readily available on Amazon or in a number of stores.

I love to set some time aside, even if it is just fifteen minutes, to make myself a coffee, put on some music and sit at my desk with my colouring book and a pack of Reeves colouring pencils.

Have a bath
Read a book
Go for a walk
Listen to music
Take Photographs
Watch Disney films
Go out for coffee

There are lots of different things to do to relax and de-stress. Getting creative is a fun an easy way to chill out and I would really recommend giving it a go!
